Olivia’s car is at the scene of a car crash, but she’s nowhere to be found. Attending to the accident is FBI Agent Jessup. Walter senses something is awry, when suddenly Olivia flies through the windshield as if she appeared out of thin air. With her terrible injuries, Walter and Peter expect the worst. New York. A gunshot victim is urgently wheeled into the hospital emergency room. One of the medics points out to the ER doctor that the gunshot wound isn’t the victim’s only injury. The victim is Nina Sharp, and her bionic arm has been torn open.

At the FBI, Broyles and Olivia discuss Nina’s condition. Charlie shows them video surveillance from the attack at Nina’s apartment building. A man wearing bandages on his face enters, kills the security guard, then shoots Nina as she is about to exit the elevator. As the man opens a briefcase full of bizarre surgical devices, he says something inaudible to one of his cronies. FBI Office. Broyles briefs a room full of FBI agents on ZFT, a terrorist organization whose modus operandi is to use advanced technology for destructive purposes. The group’s name is taken from the German translation of a manifesto entitled, “Destruction through Advancement of Technology.” Recent evidence indicates that ZFT might be funded by William Bell, founder and chairman of Massive Dynamic.

Downtown Boston. A troubled woman, SUSAN PRATT, rides a bus. She seems to be in respiratory distress. As the rests her head against the window, condensation appears on the glass. A newspaper nearby begins to singe and curl. Panicking, she forces the bus to stop and gets off. Episode 17: “Bad Dreams”

Fringe - Fringe, Season 1 - Bad Dreams

A YOUNG MOTHER pushes her daughter in a stroller down into the subway station. It’s late and there is no one else around. As she reaches the bottom of the stairs, she misses her train and is forced to wait for the next one. She stands at the edge of the platform singing to her daughter. In the background the next train approaches. Her daughter fiddles with the string of a red balloon attached to the arm of the stroller, untying it — sending it floating up to the ceiling. The mom reacts, reaching for the string at the very edge of the platform. But someone approaches her from behind, and just as the train is about to pass by, pushes her onto the tracks to her death. When the train passes, Olivia is standing on the platform; it was she who pushed the mom onto the tracks.

Olivia jolts awake in her bed. She was having a nightmare. She can’t get back to sleep, so she starts her day — works out, makes coffee, watches the news. Rachel comes into the kitchen, but their conversation is interrupted when Olivia sees a television news report about a woman who threw herself in front of a subway train in New York City. Olivia’s apartment. Olivia is reading Ella a bedtime story when she is interrupted by a phone call from Peter. He’s actually calling for Rachel. Olivia is clearly a little uncomfortable by the two of them interacting socially, but hands the phone over and continues with the story.

Animal testing laboratory. FOUR ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVISTS break into a pharmaceutical testing facility. One of them peppers the walls with animal rights propaganda, while the others free animals from cages. A silent alarm is tripped. Elsewhere, a man, presumably a SECURITY GUARD, is awakened by a text message informing him of the break-in.

Demolition site. Workers prepare a building to be demolished. After the final sweep, DENNIS, one of the workers, gets a strange feeling and heads back inside. Looking at the building’s blueprints, which reveals a room they didn’t check. Dennis finds a hollow spot in the floor and kicks it in — revealing a dungeon of hidden passages below. A few workers follow him into the dark and eerie passages. They find a room cordoned off by bars, and inside, huddled in the corner, is a young boy: hairless, emaciated, trembling, and naked.

At the FBI, Charlie talks on the phone and receives some startling information. At the fax machine he finds a creepy invitation to an art exhibition. Charlie’s look suggests this isn’t just any ordinary fax. … Continue Reading

His lawyer SIMON COLE enters with his appeal and the items Jones requested. While the lawyer rifles through his briefcase, Jones sneaks up behind him and breaks his neck. He removes Cole’s suit and puts it on, swallows some pills, applies eye drops, and puts sunscreen on his face. He stands patiently in the corner as a bright light illuminates him from above. The light intensifies and envelops him…

Episode 13: “The Transformation”

A commercial airliner: As MARSHALL BOWMAN sits writing in his notebook, his nose begins to bleed. He goes to the bathroom where he checks his teeth, tongue, and eyes. He swabs his mouth, dabs the swab into a vial filled with liquid, then panics as the liquid turns red. In the cabin, he grabs a flight attendant and tells her he’s in trouble, that he needs to be sedated. As the flight crew tries to calm him, his nose begins to bleed again. He makes one final plea: keep him in the bathroom no matter what. Inside the bathroom, Bowman shudders in pain. His teeth begin falling out. He screams in agony as quills pierce the back of his shirt and he doubles over in pain. Outside, the flight crew are considering their options when the bathroom door splinters and a hideous, inhuman beast bursts into the cabin.

A warehouse in an undisclosed location. Olivia is strapped to a gurney being wheeled down a warehouse corridor by two men. She demands to know who they are, but the men remain silent. Philadelphia Mutual Savings Bank. A team of five bank robbers storms the bank at night, killing the guard and disabling the security system. In command is MITCHEL LOEB (“In Which We Meet Mr. Jones”). The robbers proceed to the main vault and stretch a black tarp over the vault wall. Loeb gives the command for two others to fire a harpoon — and it flies right through! Loeb and two others use the harpoon’s cable pull themselves through the wall. They have a minute and forty seconds. Once inside, they quickly break open one safe deposit box, pull out a heavy box, and push it through the wall. As the men pull themselves back out, the last man struggles to loosen the harpoon. As he unhooks the harpoon and races to get back through the wall, it solidifies around him — crushing him inside. With nothing left to do, Loeb pulls out a gun and shoots him in the head, leaving him half-stuck the wall.

Our team arrives at the bank to find the robber hanging out of the wall. Broyles says that two other bank vaults have been breached, one in Cleveland the other in Baltimore; now they finally know how. Each time the only thing that was taken was a single oversized safe deposit box. Suddenly, Olivia realizes she knows the man stuck in the wall: RAUL LUGO.
